Phil Claxton founded CardioTech International, LLC in 1986 and oversaw the management buyout of Vita-Stat in November 2002. He has a BA and a BS from Washington and Lee. He was an officer in the Army, then received his MBA from Harvard and his JD from Georgetown. Phil oversees administration and strategic decision-making at Lifeclinic as well as the company’s international operations. He holds the around-the-world speed record for piston aircraft.
Mike Cavotta has over 35 years' experience in system design and marketing of high tech products and services, particularly interactive monitors. A graduate of Ohio State University’s College of Engineering, Mike held management positions at Alcoa, ADP and CompuServe before founding Performance Concepts. He came to Lifeclinic in 2003. He is a track and field athlete and nationally-ranked Senior Olympian.
Jim Evans joined Lifeclinic in August 2009 after ten years with GE Healthcare – Lunar, the division of GE Healthcare responsible for bone assessment and body composition technology. Jim served as the division’s CFO from 2003 thru 2005, and most recently led product management and business development activities for Lunar’s portable screening device. Jim is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and is an avid Badgers fan.
David Horne has 20 years' experience in hardware and software engineering design. After graduating from the Imperial College of Science and Technology and becoming an Associate of the City and Guilds Institute in London, he worked for 15 years in the aerospace industry and then later for the Cleveland Clinic and more recently as Vice President of Engineering for Performance Concepts. He sails on Lake Erie and hosts the company’s annual pig roast.
John Kelly, M.D., Ph.D. has over 30 years' experience in health management. A graduate of Harvard Medical School and Harvard University, Dr. Kelly has held senior management positions at Aetna, the AMA and Union Pacific Railroad. He has been on clinical faculties of three major universities and the boards of directors of several major healthcare organizations. He has written many articles and made numerous presentations on health improvement and healthcare.
Tara McCoy was an early investor in CardioTech International. She is an experienced manager and has owned construction and retailing businesses. She currently supervises the manufacturing facility, overseeing all manufacturing and customer service. She has additional skills in design which the company has used with respect to its products and to its facilities.
Matt McGrath joined Lifeclinic in January 2009. He is a graduate of Princeton University where he was an all-Ivy League tackle on the football team. He has more than 20 years’ marketing and ad sales experience. At Catalina Health Resource, Matt managed a group that was responsible for tens of millions of dollars in annual ad revenue generation.
Lon von Hurwitz is one of the pioneers of place-based media. He introduced digital in-theater media at Kodak, was SVP of Marketing for Sony Pictures’ Columbia TriStar division, developed "Perfect Media" for IBN, and in June 2009 came to Lifeclinic from Health Club Media Network where he was President of Sales. Lon has served as the National Chairman of the Board of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
