Here are a variety of snacks that will provide a quick 15g of carbohydrates if needed to treat hypoglycemia:
- 10 animal crackers
- 1/2 bagel
- 43 cheese fish crackers
- 4 cheese cracker/peanut butter sandwiches
- 1/2 cup Chex cereal mix
- 3/4 cup of dry unsweetened cereals such as Cheerios or corn flakes
- 1 small piece of fresh fruit
- 1/2 cup of canned fruit
- 1/4 cup of dried fruit
- 3 graham crackers
- 4 oz juice box
- 3 mini muffins
- 3 cups of popcorn
- 3/4 oz of pretzels
- 2 rice cakes
- 1 Rice Krispie treat bar
- 1/4 cup of trail mix
- 1 cup of yogurt (plain or artificially sweetened, nonfat)
- 3 cups of raw vegetables such as fresh broccoli, carrots, celery, or zucchini with 2 tablespoons of dip
Measure some of these out and keep them handy, so they'll be there when you need them.
