Following a few simple precautions will help ensure that your exercise or fitness routine is a safe, enjoyable experience.
- Let someone know where you're going and when you expect to return.
- Carry your ID with you.
- Wear brightly colored clothing when exercising outdoors.
- Add lights or reflector tape to your body or bike if you exercise after dark.
- If you walk or run on the road, move against traffic.
- Don't let headphones distract you from observing traffic and safety concerns.
