Beware of Hidden Fat in Packaged Foods

When buying packaged foods, check the labels for fat content. These foods may be especially high in unwanted fat:

  • Potato mixes
  • Crackers
  • Granolas
  • Rice dishes
  • Bagel/pita bits and crisps
  • Instant breakfast drinks
  • Stuffing/breading mixes
  • Frozen vegetables in sauce
  • Pre-popped and microwaveable popcorn
  • Nondairy creamers
  • Flavored instant coffee mixes
  • Refried beans
  • Toaster pastries
